Vishnu Deo Sai flagged off ‘Suposhan Rath’

Raipur: Chhattisgarh government is committed to achieve the vision of a healthy and well-nourished Chhattisgarh, says Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai flagged off ‘Suposhan Rath’-nutrition chariot on occasion of Teeja Pora festival. State government is observing Poshan Maah-Nutrition month from 1 September to 30 September.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai flagged off the nutrition chariot – Suposhan Rath operated by Women and Child Development department on the occasion of Teeja Pora festival organized at his residence on Monday .

The aim of Suposhan Rath is to rise awareness about the importance of intake of balanced nutrition in food. The state government is observing Poshan Maah- Nutrition month from September 1st to September 30th.

The dedicated vehicle equipped with audio and visual features will travel to various villages of the state to promote the message of nutrition to the people.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, MP Brijmohan Agrawal, Shri Kiran Dev, MLAs Shri Rajesh Munat, Anuj Sharma, Khuswant Saheb, Women and Child Development Secretary Smt. Shammi Abidi, Director Tulika Prajapati and a large number of public representatives and women were present.

As per the information, the Suposhan Rath will be on move across the of state displaying the message on electronic screen with visuals and audio effect.

The aim of Chhattisgarh government for rolling out a dedicated vehicle is to address serious health challenges including malnutrition and anemia. Health and nutrition related services are being provided to pregnant women, lactating women, children between 0 to 06 years and adolescent girls through more than 52000 Anganwadi centers. Positive behavior change from community, family and individual level is also very important to achieve the goal of nutrition, said health officials.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that Chhattsigrh government is determined to achieve the vision of a healthy and well-nourished Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Poshan Maah is being organized from 01 September to 30 September 2024 for widespread dissemination of messages related to health, nutrition and hygiene to the public, compelling various components of the community to participate in the journey of nutrition as a mass movement. Chief Minister said that during the Poshan Maah this year, focus is being laid on anemia issue, supplementary nutrition, education on balanced nutrition as well as use of technology for quality service delivery and holistic nutrition.

Chief Minister Shri Sai has urged the state’s people’s representatives, Panchayati Raj Institutions, women’s self-help groups, intellectuals, students, public and private sector representatives, and the entire community to actively engage in Poshan Maah with enthusiasm and energy. He encouraged everyone to commit to making Chhattisgarh free of malnutrition and anemia, to adopt proper nutritional practices, and to inspire others to do the same.

The Chief Minister emphasized that through collective efforts, we can build a strong foundation for a healthier Chhattisgarh, enhancing the future and well-being of our state.
