‘Samaira Policy Research Institute’ launched to bridge policy and people

New Delhi: The Samaira Policy Research Institute (SPRI) was formally inaugurated at The Park Hotel, Connaught Place, New Delhi. The event was graced by Shri Naresh Bansal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Joint Treasurer of the BJP, who released the institute’s Mission Document and officially launched the initiative.

The institute aims to conduct research based on ground realities, promote policy innovation, and encourage inclusive development. It seeks to engage stakeholders from villages and districts to the state and national level, making policymaking more practical, people-centric, and sustainable.

Speaking at the event, Sandeep Shahi, President of the BJP’s NGO Cell in Uttar Pradesh, emphasized the need to bridge the gap between governance and grassroots communities.

Nutritious meals for just ₹20

A major highlight of the inauguration was the announcement of the ‘Lok Nayak Canteen’. This initiative, jointly undertaken by Samaira Policy Research Institute (Dehradun) and AVARD (New Delhi), will provide nutritious meals at a subsidized cost of only ₹20. Former NDMC Councillor Shri Ramesh informed that the first phase will be launched in Udham Singh Nagar and Dehradun (Uttarakhand), with plans to expand across more districts and states in the future.

The event witnessed the presence of academicians, policymakers, civil society representatives, and young researchers. Shri Rajeev Chatterjee, Associate Secretary of AVARD, also extended his support for collaborative welfare initiatives.

Concluding the ceremony, Mr. Vijay Paul, Founder of Samaira Policy Research Institute, delivered the vote of thanks and reaffirmed the institute’s mission to produce evidence-based research, strengthen grassroots democracy, and turn ideas into actionable solutions.

The SPRI marks a significant step towards policy innovation, knowledge-sharing, and sustainable development in India.
