Raipur: In a significant pro-farmer move, the Central Government has increased the rice procurement target for the Central Pool under the Kharif Marketing Season 2024-25 from 70 lakh metric tonnes to 78 lakh metric tonnes. This decision strengthens the hard work and trust of lakhs of farmers across the state.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Shri Pralhad Joshi for this key decision. He said that the Double Engine Government is firmly committed to the prosperity of the state’s food growers.
Posting on social media platform ‘X’, Chief Minister Sai said, “It is a matter of great joy for Chhattisgarh that the honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s farmer-first government has approved the increase in rice procurement target for the Central Pool from 70 lakh metric tonnes to 78 lakh metric tonnes for the Kharif Marketing Season 2024-25. This approval has been made possible due to the continued efforts of our government.”
The Chief Minister added that this decision will further strengthen the economic condition of Chhattisgarh’s farmers and will inject new energy into the state’s agri-based economy.
