CM Sai Visits Flood-Hit Bastar, Directs Officials to Speed Up Relief and Rehabilitation Works

CM Conducts Aerial and Ground Survey of Affected Areas in Bastar Division
Raipur, September 1, 2025/ Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today carried out an aerial survey and ground inspection of the flood-affected districts of Dantewada and Bastar in the Bastar Division. He personally reviewed the ground situation and took stock of the progress in relief and rehabilitation operations. CM Sai said that timely assistance to every flood-affected family is the State Government’s top priority, and this requires sensitivity and promptness at every level.
The Chief Minister visited the temporary relief camp set up at Churitikara Para in Dantewada, where he interacted with flood-affected families and heard their grievances. He assured them that the government stands firmly with every distressed family. Directing the administration, he emphasized that adequate food, clean drinking water, and safe shelter must be ensured in all camps on a continuous basis. He further said that immediate assistance should reach all affected people and that their rehabilitation work must be taken up on a priority basis and completed expeditiously.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to provide essential items such as rations, utensils, and clothes in sufficient quantity in the relief camps. He directed that financial assistance for house repairs or new construction, as required, must be disbursed promptly. Sai asked the Collector and Revenue Department officials to quickly assess crop losses, livestock deaths, and other damages caused by the floods and extend assistance to the affected accordingly.
CM Sai also inspected a flood-damaged bridge, reviewing the traffic situation and the status of reconstruction work. He instructed officials to ensure early restoration of basic amenities like roads, electricity, and drinking water in the affected villages. Stressing accountability, he made it clear that no negligence in relief and rehabilitation work would be tolerated. “Natural disasters like floods do bring hardship, but with administrative promptness and public cooperation, these challenges can be addressed in time,” the Chief Minister said. He further directed officials to ensure special care for children, women, and the elderly in relief camps and affected villages, and to give priority to health and education facilities.
CM Reviews Health Camp Arrangements
The Chief Minister also inspected the health camp set up at the site. He interacted with the medical team regarding the availability of medicines, deployment of doctors, and delivery of primary health services to patients. Speaking directly with affected families, he asked whether they were satisfied with the administration’s support. The victims expressed satisfaction with the quick response of the district administration.
Sai gathered detailed information from officials about health check-ups, treatment of the sick, and the availability of essential medicines. He instructed that regular healthcare services be continued in the camps until normalcy is restored. He also directed officials to maintain constant vigilance against possible outbreaks of diarrhea and other waterborne seasonal diseases after the floods, and to ensure compulsory chlorination of all drinking water sources.
The Chief Minister urged the general public to consume only clean drinking water and to maintain hygiene and sanitation. He also instructed Urban Administration Department officials to ensure regular cleanliness in the affected wards.
