CM Extends Janmashtami Greetings, Performs Symbolic Dahi-Handi Ritual

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the grand Janmashtami celebrations and Dahi-Handi competition held in the Gudhiyari area of Raipur on the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. Chief Minister Shri Sai extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Chhattisgarh and prayed to Lord Shri Krishna for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of all citizens.

On this occasion, CM Sai symbolically broke the Dahi-Handi, upholding the traditional ritual. He also lovingly offered sweets to little children dressed as Radha and Krishna, expressing affection and admiration for their devotion and cultural spirit.

In his address, CM Sai remarked that it is indeed a matter of great fortune that we reside in a sacred land like Chhattisgarh — the maternal home of Mata Kaushalya and the nanihal (maternal grandparents’ home) of Lord Shri Ram. He urged the gathering of devotees to make continuous efforts toward strengthening and enriching Sanatan culture.

Chief Minister Shri Sai reiterated the state government’s unwavering commitment to the preservation and promotion of religious and cultural heritage. He informed the audience that developmental work is underway at major Shakti Peeths and pilgrimage sites across the state, including the renowned Bhoramdeo Temple. Additionally, under initiatives like the Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana and the Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Darshan Yojana, arrangements are being made to facilitate pilgrimages to various sacred destinations for devotees.

CM Sai also congratulated event organizer Shri Basant Agrawal and his team for successfully hosting such a grand celebration.

The event also saw addresses by MLA Shri Kiran Dev and Shri Pawan Sai, who extended Janmashtami greetings to all devotees present.

Among other prominent attendees were Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri TankRam Verma, Chhattisgarh State Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Shri Sanjay Srivastava, Mayor Smt. Meenal Chaubey, Shri Rajiv Lochan Maharaj, several public representatives and a large number of devotees.
