Raipur : Under the guidance of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’ was formally launched today across the country. As part of this initiative, the ICAR–National Institute of Biotic Stress Management (ICAR-NIBSM), Raipur actively participated through a series of awareness and outreach programs in various districts. The campaign will continue until 12 June 2025.

The primary objective of the campaign is to connect agricultural scientists directly with farmers and disseminate information about advanced agricultural technologies, government schemes, and successful farming models. The campaign is being organized in collaboration with State Agricultural Universities, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), and related departments.

Dr. P.K. Rai, Director of ICAR-NIBSM, stated that the campaign is expected to reach nearly 1.5 crore farmers across the country. More than 10 teams of ICAR-NIBSM scientists are currently visiting different districts, engaging directly with farmers through training sessions, demonstrations, and interactive dialogues.

The campaign is showcasing cutting-edge technologies, including:

Smart farming tools

Drone-based agricultural applications

Vertical farming systems

Artificial Intelligence in agriculture

Bio-fortified crop varieties

Innovative irrigation methods

Weather forecasting tools

Post-harvest management techniques

Alongside technology demonstrations, the campaign features training programs, exhibitions, and farmer–scientist interactions to ensure hands-on learning and effective knowledge transfer. Scientists are also documenting farmer feedback and successful case studies for broader dissemination.

At the conclusion of the campaign, a comprehensive impact assessment will be conducted to inform and strengthen future agricultural policies and extension strategies.
