Raipur, July 29, 2025 : In a significant step towards governance transformation, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 28th July between the Capacity Building Commission of the Government of India and the Government of Chhattisgarh under the ambitious “Mission Karmayogi” initiative. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai at a private hotel in Nava Raipur.
Representing the Chhattisgarh Government, Additional Chief Secretary and Director General of the Chhattisgarh Academy of Administration, Shri Subrat Sahoo, signed the MoU, while Member Secretary Smt. V. Lalitha Lakshmi signed on behalf of the Capacity Building Commission.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that Mission Karmayogi is a visionary initiative that embodies the dreams of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Through this mission, the spirit of “Karmayogi” will be instilled among all government officers and employees, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
The Chief Minister informed that under Mission Karmayogi, continuous training will be provided to nearly four lakh government servants in Chhattisgarh, and the process has already begun. So far, approximately 50,000 officers and employees have successfully completed the training.
Highlighting the importance of skill development in the evolving global and national landscape, the Chief Minister emphasized that upskilling is no longer optional, but a necessity. He remarked that Mission Karmayogi will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of excellence in governance and administration. The MoU, he said, will become a milestone in taking the good governance agenda of Chhattisgarh to new heights.
He also noted that this collaboration would help in introducing innovative training methods tailored to the state’s specific needs. The state government, he assured, is fully committed to implementing Mission Karmayogi with utmost dedication and ensuring its benefits reach every level of the administrative machinery.
The government is continuously working towards strengthening systems through innovation and new initiatives at both governance and administrative levels to provide better services to citizens, he added. This effort, according to the Chief Minister, will make public servants more responsive and sensitive to the needs of the people and will also aid in effective implementation of citizen-centric policies and services.
Shri Sai concluded by expressing confidence that with the support of skilled and motivated public servants, the collective dream of a developed Chhattisgarh can be realized.
The event was also graced by Dr. Alka Mittal, Member of the Capacity Building Commission; Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain; Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Singh; Secretary of the Industries Department Rajat Kumar; CEO of Mission Karmayogi Rakesh Verma; Director of Chhattisgarh Administration Academy Shri T.C. Mahawar and other senior officials.
