New Delhi, 28th Nov, 2025 : Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) celebrates a landmark achievement as its Vice Chairman, Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, secures unanimous re-election as President of the International Cooperative Alliance – Asia Pacific (ICA-AP). The election was conducted on November 27th , 2025, during the 17th ICA-AP Regional Assembly in Colombo, Sri Lanka, underscoring robust confidence from member nations across the region.
Dr. Yadav expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming support, stating, “This renewed trust from the Asia-Pacific cooperative community motivates me to intensify efforts in forging stronger regional bonds and advancing shared prosperity.” He highlighted the collective triumph, noting it belongs to grassroots farmers, workers, artisans, and all cooperators championing unity to harness the region’s vast cooperative potential.
Indian cooperative leaders at the assembly praised the outcome as a powerful endorsement of India’s pivotal influence in global cooperativism.
Dr. Yadav’s ascent from humble origins in Jhansi to a prominent international figure exemplifies resilient leadership. Born on March 19, 1959, in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, to a family of freedom fighters and farmers, he possesses advanced qualifications including M.Sc., B.Ed., LL.B. and Ph.D. His prior roles encompass Chairman of KRIBHCO, President of the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), Vice President of ICA-AP (2010-2021), Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha & Lok Sabha), MLA and board positions at NCCF, NAFED, and the International Raiffeisen Union (Germany).
