Raipur July 12, 2025 : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today felicitated meritorious students from various disciplines and top-performing schools at the PSY Excellence Awards Ceremony held at Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur.

Congratulating all the honored teachers, students, and institutions, the Chief Minister stated that education is not merely a means to obtain degrees, but a pathway to serve society and the nation. He emphasized that life is incomplete without education, which is the very foundation of a nation’s progress. “In every field, education is the fundamental pillar of success,” he affirmed.

Highlighting the progress made by the state, CM Sai said that Chhattisgarh has entered its silver jubilee year and has witnessed unprecedented advancements in the field of education over the past years. While the state once had only a single medical college, it now boasts over 15 medical colleges. Prestigious national institutions such as IIT, NIT, IIM, and AIIMS are also operational in the state. Schools have been opened across villages, and colleges have been established according to the needs of local students.

Recalling his own school days, the Chief Minister said, “Back then, there was only one school for children from several nearby villages. I remember having to take my Class 5 board exams in another village because our own village did not have an exam center.” He added, “Today, students in Chhattisgarh have boundless opportunities, and every child should take full advantage of these to achieve their goals.”

CM Sai also noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the nation is steadily advancing towards the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India). “With this same resolve, we are moving rapidly toward building a Viksit Chhattisgarh,” he said. Over the last 11 years, India has gained global recognition and is once again on the path to becoming a Vishwaguru (World Leader), he added.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government is committed to effectively implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) at the grassroots level. He highlighted that under the NEP 2020, education is now being imparted in local languages in Chhattisgarh. “In regions like Bastar, teaching is now being conducted in local languages, and even medical education in the state is now possible in Hindi,” he remarked.

Raipur MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, while congratulating the award-winning students, said that they will play a crucial role in realizing India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047. He emphasized that youth will be key contributors in restoring India’s position as a global knowledge leader.

MLA Shri Dharamlal Kaushik, addressing the gathering, said that the aim of the organization is not only to honor meritorious students but also to provide a platform to talents working across various domains. He noted that under the NEP, steps have been taken to help students become proficient in multiple languages, and commended the positive changes occurring in the education sector of Chhattisgarh.

On this occasion, CM Shri Sai also felicitated artists who excelled in their respective fields. During the event, veteran painter Shri Raj Saini presented the Chief Minister with a special painting depicting him alongside Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna, the late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

The program was attended by PSY President Dr. S.K. Mishra, Advisor Shri Mahendra Gupta, CEO Smt. Shubhra Shukla, along with several intellectuals, educationists, dignitaries, and school students.
